PUREMIND® VR Therapy is a psychotherapy solution which incorporates a combination of elements from hypnotherapy and virtual reality technology. The effectiveness of both hypnotherapy and Virtual Reality (VR) in the treatment of mental issues and disorders has been proved by extensive scientific research over many years.

Hypnotherapy is one of the most effective therapeutic treatments available, and has been recognised in most developed countries. The therapy focuses on communicating with the sub-conscious mind and according to the World Health Organization (WHO), 90% of the general population can be effectively hypnotised.

VR is being used as a therapeutic tool in many applications, and is becoming increasingly popular. Our brains were built for visual information:

  • 90% of the information processed by the brain is visual
  • It takes only 13 milliseconds for the human brain to process an image
  • The human brain processes images 60,000 times faster than text
  • 80% of people remember what they see, compared to 10% of what they hear and 20% of what they read

PUREMIND® VR Therapy is designed to be administered, the first time as a Prime VR Therapy module followed by Booster VR Therapy modules, to ensure long-lasting permanent effect. The Booster VR Therapy also benefits should you experience any relapses. Each person will require their individualized treatment plan.

Our tests have confirmed that PUREMIND® VR Therapy has an average success rate of 82% across our various VR Therapy modules from the first treatment. Individual results may vary depending on your circumstances and the condition that will be treated.

PUREMIND® VR Therapy will be administered via a trained practitioner. The technology treatment is delivered via a VR headset.

The general approach to the treatment comprises:

  • Pre-session activities around questioning and general relaxation of the patient
  • Session preparation – ensure the patient is in a comfortable position, preferably in a reclined seated position. VR headset and program ready
  • Running of session
  • Post-session activities around confirmation of benefit and follow-up sessions.

Our product development team has received strong feedback on the benefits that we could deliver to the hospitality industry using our VR technology. With this in mind we have developed PUREMIND Serenity™, a module specifically made for hotel guests. PUREMIND Serenity™ does not require supervision by PUREMIND® practitioners. Side effects from VR Therapy are very uncommon. Our trials found that 100% of our trial subjects experienced a comfortable session.

Although not common (and not evidenced through our testing), some of the side-effects from any form of hypnotherapy may include nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, headache, stiffness, panic and mild anxiety.

Skilled therapists will be able to deal with any of the above issues if they present. The major issue expected is with clients who have trouble relaxing. If this is evident pre-session, the therapist can ensure that the client is relaxed and receptive prior to undergoing the treatment.
